Fargo Favorites: Top Winter Activities

Fargo Favorites: Top Winter Activities

If you have lived in the Fargo area for some time now you know that winter can sometimes feel like it is never going to end. Often people get bored during this snowy season and begin to wish for warmer weather and longer days. It is important to remember though that although winter can be frustrating, it offers us many activities that we cannot enjoy, or do not appreciate in other seasons. Here is a list of 6 winter activities that will get you out of the house and have you enjoying what Fargo has to offer!

1. Downtown on Ice

This outdoor ice rink is one of Fargo’s newest rinks that the whole family can enjoy. The rink is located at 501 Main Ave and is open from December 20th– February 28th. There is also a warming house on site with hours from 4pm-9pm weekdays and 12pm-8pm on weekends. Check out the Fargo Park Districts website for the locations of more outdoor rinks!

If you are a resident of any of our Moorhead properties, be sure to check out the outdoor ice rink located at Stonemill Pond!

2. Sky Zone and Skate City

If you are looking for an indoor activity that gets you active, make sure to check out Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park or Skate City! Both places are a great destination for the whole family to burn some energy off when it is too cold for outdoor activities.

3. Fargo Air Museum

The Fargo Air Museum is another family friendly site that is both educational and fun! Check out the calendar on their website or Facebook page to stay updated on events and activities that are being hosted at the museum.

4. Snowshoeing

This unique winter activity is offered at Edgewood Golf Course as well as at M.B. Johnson Park. You can rent equipment on site, and snowshoe rentals are only $10.

5. FM Curling Club

Learn to curl at the FM Curling Club! Intro classes are $10 and teach you the basic etiquette, rules and techniques of curling. Check out their website for dates and more info!

6. Coffee Bars Unique to Fargo

Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa at any of Fargo’s signature coffee shops! If you are in West Fargo, check out Beans Coffee Bar located off Veterans Boulevard. South Fargo residents may like to visit Bully Brew Coffee House. Moorhead tenants may like Third Drop Coffee.
